Growing Up in northern Ontario, Garry developed a deep and enduring fascination with the natural world. Inspired by the rich tapestry of colour, and unique form of the islands and rugged coastline of Georgian Bay, he has been drawn back time and again to experience the serenity and tranquility of these remote areas. Throughout his images, you will encounter incredible, remote vistas, remarkable, natural phenomena, and many other landscapes, both large and small, that you will be delighted and perhaps a little surprised to discover so close to home. Gary's goal has been to explore all the uninhabited areas of the "sixth great lake", recording the natural beauty of this unique and poignant region. Magestic landscapes and extraordinary details of ice age rock formations, forest plant life, and the changing seasons are meticulously recorded. "Abstract simplicity instills an appreciation for the beauty of this complex geography, while colour expresses the emotion of the moment. Light is the language of these photographs that brings God's perfect creation to life." - Gary Heilimo Gary is currently living in Turku, Finland and is photographing the outer archipelago of the Baltic Sea
